Our Emergency Response Team responds to more than 200 wildlife emergencies each year and is specifically trained to deal with monkeys and other wildlife who are injured by falling from broken branches, high-voltage electrocutions, cars and attacks from other wildlife or domestic pets. The Refuge receives and treats all types of wild animals, but howler monkeys have become our specialty. Because of our expertise and experience with rehabilitating howler monkeys, we also receive monkeys that have been injured in other locations from all over Costa Rica. We are proud to work with Pack for a Purpose and are happy to donate any items that you bring with you to share with the local community. We seek out families in great need and make sure that your contribution is donated with care. Examples of needed items include: clothes, toys, art supplies, school supplies, Spanish language books, & personal care items. If you can bring any of these items with you to donate, it will be much appreciated! If you would like to donate a monetary amount, we will purchase needed items and bring them to the local families.
